Thousands of Turks in Istanbul participated in a march called "March for Fatah" to support the Palestinians.

An activist from the Anatolian Youth Association, Sahin Ocal, said: "The Palestinian people are only defending their homeland, this has nothing to do with terrorism. All the people who terrorise this are the people who stand behind terrorism; let us especially point this out. They (Palestinians) are only acting in self-defence. Today we see a more vivid example of this. We expect the continuation of this."

"Inshallah, we believe that this will also be a victory day for Muslims," 39-year-old housewife Fatma Ipek adds to him as she holds an "anti-Zionist" banner.

A freshman student at the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University, Meryem Sezgin, said: "When we heard that Hamas attacked Israel, we wanted to support them. We are all university students, we can't do anything here. We can only pray. We wanted to do our best to stand with them."

Notably, Operation Aqsa Typhoon, which was launched yesterday, is being conducted in response to the ongoing oppression and aggression that the Palestinian people have been subjected to for decades by the Israeli Occupation.
