Sunday, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) introduced the fifth issue of the JD 50 banknote for the purpose of circulating.

The CBJ said in a statement that the fifth issuance was put into circulation based on the Jordanian Banknotes Issuance System No. (55) for the year 2022.

It added that the rest of the categories (JD 20, JD 10, and JD 5) will be introduced later.

The CBJ stressed that the JD 50 denomination, the fourth issue, will remain in circulation along with the new one.

On Dec. 26, 2022, the CBJ announced that a JD 1 banknote that contains enhanced security features was designed.

This issue is the first in 20 years. It also includes upgraded, durable paper quality as well as the industry's most cutting-edge security features.
