Relevant authorities revealed Wednesday that the reason behind the Al-Weibdeh building collapse was maintenance work that was taking place on the same day of the collapse and the removal of the central column in the basement.

This came during Amman Magistrates Court’s 27th public session.

On Sept. 13, 2022, a building collapsed in Al-Weibdeh area in Amman, leaving 14 dead and 10 injured.

Notably, on Sept. 16, 2022, the last person was pulled out dead from under the rubble of the collapsed building.
