Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates rejected a statement issued by the Dutch ambassador in Amman, after the Minister of State for Media Affairs received him for a courtesy meeting.

The director of the European Department informed the ambassador that the ministry was surprised by the ambassador’s interference in the radio license application for a person who is neither Jordanian nor Dutch, that was already being handled in accordance with the Jordanian laws and regulations. He also said that it was incomprehensible for an ambassador representing a friendly country to interfere in a case governed by laws and regulations.

The Director of the European Department also told the Dutch ambassador that Jordan is always open to honest dialogue relating to all issues with all partner and friendly countries through diplomatic channels and direct contacts and in accordance with diplomatic norms, but it does not accept interference in its internal affairs.

He stressed that Jordan and the Netherlands have strong and historical friendship and partnership based on mutual respect, cooperation and direct dialogue, stressing keenness to develop this relationship in various fields.
