British Conservatives on Monday elected Liz Truss as prime minister to succeed Boris Johnson.
The 47-year-old Foreign Secretary won 57 percent of the vote, according to the results announced by Graham Brady, who is responsible for organizing the internal ballot following Johnson's resignation in early July.
In July, Boris Johnson announced his resignation as Conservative Party leader. This came after dozens of his ministers quit the government.
