The British rock musician Roger Waters paid tribute to Al Jazeera veteran journalist Shireen Abu Akleh during his concert in New York earlier this week. In large letters across the concert’s backdrop was Shireen Abu Akleh’s name along with words saying that her crime was “being Palestinian” and her punishment was “death.”

The co-founder of Pink Floyd has been an advocate for the Palestinian cause and the BDS movement for many years.

On May 11, 2022, Shireen Abu Akleh, 51, was killed after being shot by the Israeli Occupation Forces while covering an Israeli Occupation army raid in the occupied West Bank.

Last week, Palestinians and people around the world marked 100 days since Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by the Israeli Occupation.
