The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed Saturday that it is following up from the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis the situation of Jordanian students studying in Ukrainian universities, in coordination with the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

The ministry added in a statement which Roya received a copy of, that it had launched an electronic platform for these students to register their academic data and list their universities and specializations. The number of students who registered on this platform reached around 400, the vast majority of whom are studying in the fields of medicine and dentistry.

It indicated that students' names were all listed through the electronic platform that was launched for them previously, and lists were prepared classified by the name of the university and specialization, and these lists were sent to the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, which in turn will contact the Ukrainian authorities to work on obtaining documents for students proving their previous enrollment in these universities, which would make it easier for them to enroll in any other universities.

The ministry indicated that the non-Jordanian certificate equivalency committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research granted an exception to these students from the requirement to study 50 percent of the study plan subjects at the university from which the student will graduate, which is required by the instructions for equivalence of non-Jordanian certificates.

It explained that one of the options available to Jordanian students returning from Ukrainian universities is to continue with online learning as long as the relevant Ukrainian universities offer them this option, and there are countries such as Hungary and Russia that have announced the possibility of receiving students studying in Ukrainian universities, and allowing them to complete their studies.

Regarding allowing these students to enroll to complete their studies in Jordanian universities, the ministry confirmed that this option is available, as students can check with the relevant Jordanian universities they wish to enroll in.
