Wednesday, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Faisal Al-Shboul, announced that there are mitigating measures in Ramadan that will restore the situation as it was before the coronavirus pandemic.

Shboul said in a press statement, that there will be cultural and sports activities during the month of Ramadan, as well as bazaars and Ramadan evenings.

He stressed that the defense law will remain and will not be abolished, noting that the defense law will protect workers and civilians.

For his part, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Health Affairs, responsible for the coronavirus file, Adel Belbisi, told Roya that the Epidemics Committee will reassess the epidemiological situation in the coming weeks before the holy month of Ramadan.

Belbisi added that if the situation improves, there will be new mitigating measures that include places of worship, which will start working with the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.

In regards to the provincial and municipal council elections, and the Greater Amman Municipality Council, Belbisi said that the citizen’s right to vote for whomever they want in the elections is guaranteed by the constitution, therefore, unvaccinated voters can enter polling stations.
