Head of Jordanian community in Ukraine: There are no signs of a military presence in Kiev
The head of the Jordanian community in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, Dr. Kamel Al-Awamleh, said that the number of Jordanians in Ukraine is between 4,000-5,000 people.
In his speech to Roya News Saturday, Al-Awamleh added that there are about 700 Jordanian citizens in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, noting that the Jordanians in Ukraine are businessmen, residents, and holders of Ukrainian passports, in addition to students.
He pointed out that there are no signs of a military presence in Kiev, and the movement of streets and markets is normal.
Al-Awamleh confirmed that Jordanians in Ukraine are in contact with the non-resident Jordanian ambassador to Turkey and the Jordanian Cultural Center in Kiev, to convey the citizens' conditions, indicating that many Jordanian citizens, like other communities, are trying to leave Ukraine.
In light of the current developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on Jordanian citizens not to travel to Ukraine during this period. It also calls on citizens who are in Ukraine to leave it.
The Ministry renewed its call to citizens in Ukraine to register their data to communicate with them through the electronic link: https://mfa.gov.jo/ar/embassy/Ankara/form.
The ministry said earlier: To request assistance in emergency cases, Jordanian citizens can contact the Jordanian Embassy in Ankara on the hotline (00905384419586), the Cultural Office in Kiev (00380939361181) or the Ministry's Operations Center (00962795497777).
