New COVID travel restrictions come into effect in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia announced that the new travel restrictions it issued earlier this week, came into effect Wednesday.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior said in a statement that those wishing to leave the Kingdom must receive the third shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, given that three months have passed since they received the second dose. This excludes people under the age of 16, or groups excluded in the “Tawakalna” application.

The ministry indicated that all arrivals are required to submit a negative PCR test result. or an approved rapid anti-coronavirus examination within 48 hours from the date of departure or entry, excluding those under the age of eight, taking into consideration the COVID-19 regulations of the countries of arrival.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Saudi Arabia has confirmed 719,136 cases and 8,962 deaths.
