His Majesty King Abdullah II held separate meetings with leaders of several partner Arab countries today, Thursday, on the sidelines of the Arab Summit in its thirty-third session in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Majesty met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the meetings, emphasis was placed on the necessity to halt the “Israeli” military aggression on Rafah and for the international community to urgently act to halt the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Furthermore, there was a reaffirmation of the importance of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the region, and intensifying Arab and international efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza without obstruction or delay.

The leaders also stressed the rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, and attempts to divide them as an extension of the unified Palestinian state.

They highlighted the violence perpetrated by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank, as well as violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The necessity of supporting the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem, based on the two-state solution, was emphasized.

The meetings also addressed the distinguished relations between Jordan and the partner Arab countries, and ways to expand cooperation in all fields.

Attending the meetings were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, His Majesty's Office Director Dr. Jafar Hassan, and several senior Egyptian, Palestinian, and Saudi officials.
