Sunday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Khadhemi confirmed that the perpetrators of the assassination attempt were pursued and identified.

He said during a session for the Council of Ministers: "Last night, my house was attacked by direct targeting of drones, and this cowardly act is not worthy of the brave, and does not express the will of the Iraqis."

He added: "Our country is going through many challenges that are not the product of today or the product of this government, and we were able to dismantle and solve the economic and health crises, and we have overcome the crisis of the collapse of oil prices, and the wrong policies of previous governments."

Al-Kadhemi noted that "the results of the elections, complaints and appeals are not within the competence of the government, but our duty focused on providing financial and security matters to conduct the elections."

"We will pursue those who committed yesterday's crime, we know them well and we will expose them, and the hand of justice will reach the killers of the martyr Colonel Nibras Farman, an officer of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service," he added.
