Thursday, the Jordanian actor Jamil Awad passed away. Awad was born in 1937.

Awad always focused on the field of dramatic acting, so he played many roles in Jordanian drama, and he was always distinguished by the role of a very determined and valiant man in most of his works.

Initially, he specialized in interior design, and he loved drawing, which was his first talent, and he worked for Jordan TV since its opening in 1968. He worked outside the country for a period of time, then returned in 1974 to begin his theatrical and television acting career. He began his career when he had a role in the “Gha’eb” play and then the “Mawta Bela Qubour” play, which is a political play that helped him launch his career.

He participated in many national, historical, social and rural television series and had starring roles in many of them. He presented various characters masterfully. He went back to the past to learn where we stand today and what we want tomorrow.

Awad participated in many Arab and international festivals and won many awards. One of the awards was given for his film Al Ghoson Al Akhdar and another one for his film Al Sawsana.

He was married to the artist Juliet Hakobyan. After they got married, her name became Juliet Awad. She participated in many art works and together they became a distinguished duo in Jordanian drama.
