The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiological Affairs Al-Belbisi stressed, during his hosting of Roya's Nabd al Balad program Monday, that the epidemiological situation in Jordan is stable with caution, admitting that there is a noticeable increase in coronavirus cases.

Al-Belbisi, said that the number of daily coronavirus cases in the Kingdom had not exceeded 1,700 since mid-May and that the positive PCR rate is reassuring, particularly at a time when Jordan is completely re-opened.

He reassured the public that there is no plan to return to closures, nor distance education, though the decisions may be reconsidered if hospital occupancy rates approach 70 percent.

Currently, only 12 percent of isolation beds across the Kingdom are occupied.

Monday, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of eight deaths and 1,715 new infections with the coronavirus in Jordan, bringing the total numbers since the beginning of the crisis to 843,204 infections and 10,887 deaths.
