Friday, the UAE Ministry of Health announced that 81.84 percent of the total population of the Emirates received a first dose, and 72.76 percent received two doses of approved emergency vaccines against coronavirus

The UAE health distributed 248,000 doses of vaccines during the past 24 hours, bringing the total distributed doses to 17.31 million doses.

The UAE has approved four emergency vaccines for adults: Pfizer, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Sputnik. Sinopharm is also approved for children from 3 to 17 years old.

The Emirates National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management had announced that it would start providing a booster dose of Corona vaccines to all individuals vaccinated with two doses against the virus in the country.

The authority announced via Twitter that doses can be given to individuals vaccinated with both doses 6 months after receiving the second dose, and indicated that those doses can be given 3 months after the date of the second dose, for individuals at risk.

The UAE has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.
