The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Authority Haitham Misto announced Monday that the movement of those coming and leaving the Kingdom through Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) increased by 24 percent in the first half of 2021, reaching more than 1.2 million passengers.

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Misto said that the movement of passengers increased by 60 percent in June in comparison to May.

He added that QAIA received about 389,000 passengers in June, compared to around 23,000 in the same period in 2020.

Misto confirmed that passenger traffic is growing steadily in Jordan due to the stable COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom.

The number of daily trips in July 2021 reached 153, while in July 2020 only 26 trips were made daily.
