Honduras moved its embassy to Jerusalem Thursday, after decades of work in Tel Aviv, in an attempt to build closer relations with the Israeli Occupation, becoming the fourth country to move its embassy to the disputed city.

The Central American country of Honduras previously opened a trading office in Jerusalem, breaking the decades-old policy of neutrality in the Israeli Occupation-Palestinian conflict.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid received Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez and Foreign Minister Lisandro Rosales at a small embassy inauguration ceremony in the lobby of an office building in the Technology Park, south of Jerusalem.

"I am here today with our delegation to inaugurate the Honduran embassy in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel," Hernandez said.

"I sincerely hope that the next president of Honduras, regardless of which party he belongs to, will keep this decision. I will fight for this," he added.

Bennett said Hernandez's attendance at the embassy's opening was "a testament to the deep friendship and relationship between the Jewish State of Israel and the people and state of Honduras."
