Tuesday, Palestinians protested against the newly built Israeli Occupation settlement outpost called "Avitar" on top of Mount Sobeh in the village of Beita, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli Occupation authorities are building a new road leading up to the settlement, which Palestinians say is forcing them to take longer detours to access the village.

A Palestinian activist, Nassim Mualla, told AFP, "If we lost our lands and we were put in danger, our lives will not matter. I often hear the young people saying that we will remain steadfast even if we lose everything we have. Even if I lose myself, my brother and all of my money, I will remain steadfast on this land until this settlement is removed."

A member of the settlement resistance commision, Ghassan Duglas, said, "The construction of this road and the approval of its implementation after years of hesitation, means that these settlements (south of Nablus) have been converted into Israeli cities inside the West Bank. It means that the settler coming from Kfar Qasim (Israel) reaches the settlement of Ariel and from there to the Zaatara checkpoint and then to the Hawara checkpoint without seeing one Palestinian.”
