Saturday, hundreds of people gathered in London, Ontario, a city west of Toronto, to pay homage to a Muslim family deliberately mowed down by the driver of a pick-up truck, in an attack that has shocked Canadians and which Prime Minister Justin Trudeau denounced as "terrorist."

Last Monday, a 20-year-old Canadian man, Nathaniel Veltman, was charged with four counts of murder and one count of attempted murder after he plowed into the family of five in Ontario.

The victims included two women, 74 and 44, a 46-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl.

The survivor, a nine-year-old boy, was in hospital with serious but non-fatal injuries, according to the authorities.
