Maldives suspended relations with the Israeli Occupation and introduced a ban on products from the Israeli Occupation, due to the “atrocities committed against the people of Palestine.”
Last week, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih shared a post on Twitter saying that the people of Maldives “stand in solidarity with Palestine.”

The President spokesman Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said the stance of Maldives is 'clear,' saying “We stand against injustice and in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle to secure their inalienable right to statehood.”
Notably, most imports from the Israeli Occupation have been banned since 2014, only specific medical products were allowed to be imported but required a special permit.
