Wednesday, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) claimed they had succeeded in assassinating a number of senior commanders of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

According to Hebrew media, a joint operation by the IOF and the general security services was conducted to "eliminate" a number of senior leaders of the military wing of Hamas.

The IOF added that those who were assassinated included Bassam Issa, commander of the Gaza City Brigade in Hamas, indicating he was a prominent military activist and has held the position of commander of the Gaza City Brigade since 2017.

They also named the commander of the cyber and missile auditing system, Jumah Tahla, the leader of development in missile production, Jamal Zebdeh, and Khazim Khatib, the commander of engineering corps in Hamas' production systems, as those who were killed.

Additionally, the list included Sami Radwan, commander of the Technical Directorate in Military Intelligence, and Walid Shamali, commander of the Industrial Equipment Directorate in the production system.

In turn, Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed the killing of a number of commanders by the IOF.

"Al-Qassam Brigades wreaths the jihadist leader Bassem Issa and a group of his fellow leaders and mujahideen," they said in statements.

They added that those deceased "rose during the Israeli Occupation's agressions" in order to "defend the path of [Palestinians.]"

"Thousands of leaders and soldiers will continue their march," they said.
