‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday shared an AI-generated image depicting a massive nuclear mushroom cloud rising over the Tel Aviv skyline, just two days before ‘Israel’s’ October 27 election.

The post, published on his X and Instagram accounts, was accompanied by a lengthy warning from right-wing political commentator Yuval Bloomberg that framed the Iranian nuclear threat as an existential danger potentially leading to a “second Holocaust.”

The image shows a fiery explosion engulfing high-rises in a dense urban landscape resembling central ‘Israel’.

Netanyahu presented Bloomberg’s text as essential reading, arguing that domestic controversies amount to distractions.

“The State of Israel faces a real and tangible existential threat,” the post stated.

“If the Iranians obtain nuclear weapons, nothing else will matter anymore… Qatar, the ultra-Orthodox, Urich, military conscription, warnings. It’s all one giant smokescreen designed to conceal the one issue that towers above everything else.”

It continued: “If two atomic bombs were to fall on central Israel, who would care about all these meaningless controversies?”

The message stressed a limited window of opportunity under US President Donald Trump.

“We have another two years of Trump to finish the job in Iran, and there’s no telling what will happen after that,” it said, warning that future generations “will not forgive us if we miss this historic window of opportunity.”

Netanyahu has long centered his political identity on confronting Iran, yet the dramatic use of apocalyptic AI imagery so close to polling day marked a notable escalation in campaign rhetoric.

Opposition leaders quickly condemned the post as fearmongering.

Democrats chairman Yair Golan wrote on X: “The prime minister of Israel has published an image of an atomic bomb over Tel Aviv. I ask that he be kept away from social media. The man and those around him have lost it. The pressure is mounting.”

He added that voters would “replace those spreading panic and restore security and sanity to Israel” on Tuesday.

Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot was equally blunt: “Netanyahu, you’re hysterical… As in every election campaign, it’s the same method of lies and scare tactics. This time, threatening Israeli citizens with mass destruction. And this is after you failed to achieve the objectives of the war in Iran.”

Critics noted the timing and tone appeared calculated to shift focus from domestic scandals and questions about Netanyahu’s leadership.

The post arrived amid reports that the prime minister had pushed for renewed military action against Iran before the vote—a charge he has denied—while the ‘Israeli’ military chief of staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir reportedly saw no operational need for such a strike ahead of the election.
