Thursday, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD), said through investigations and searches, the man who assaulted his wife using a sharp blade in Irbid, cutting her face open, was arrested.

Search teams located him in Amman.

The perpetrator had a previous non-related warrant out for his arrest and was placed in custody prior to the assault. Upon his release a few days ago, he proceeded to threaten his wife with assault, which he later did.

A security source told Roya Wednesday that he assaulted her due to marital disputes.

Through three blows, the perpetrator cut his wife's face open with the sharp object.

She was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

According to the security source, the attack occurred in front of their home.

Up until the arrest, the perpetrator fled the scene and remained at large.
