Royal Decree appoints Jaafar Hassan Director of His Majesty's Office following several resignations

Thursday, a Royal Decree was issued appointing His Excellency Dr. Jaafar Hassan as the Director of His Majesty's Office, effective immediately.

Additionally, a Royal Decree was issued approving the resignation of the Adviser to His Majesty the King, Kamal Qassem Al-Nasser and the Adviser for Economic Affairs at the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC), Zeina Zaid Rashad Touqan, as well as His Majesty's Adviser for Policies, Haifa Turky Hadith al-Khreisha, effective immediately.

Dr. Jaafar Hassan has a PhD and MA in Political Science and International Economics from the Institute of International Studies at the University of Geneva. He also has an MA in Public Administration from Harvard University, an MA in International Relations from Boston University, and a BA in International Relations from the American University in Paris. 

He has extensive political experience and served as the Director of the Office of His Majesty the King from 2014-2018, before serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs in 2018.
