A member of the National Committee for Epidemics Bassam Hijjawi said Jordan has reached the peak of the current coronavirus wave and he expects the daily positive PCR test rate to drop to five percent in four weeks.

During an interview with Roya's Nabd Albalad, Hijjawi advised people to be patient during Ramadan and until the COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom stabilizes. He also called on the government not to rush when it comes to reopening sectors.

Hijjawi pointed out that the COVID-19 vaccine is only available in 43 countries around the world and Jordan is one of these countries. He stressed the need for citizens to register for vaccination on the Ministry of Health's official online platform.

He confirmed that all the vaccines available in Jordan are safe and no restrictions have been imposed on the use of any of these vaccines.

He noted that there is no reason not to receive a third dose of the vaccine, should it be necessary.
