More than seven million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in UAE: Health Ministry

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that 7,124,146 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered since the beginning of the national vaccination campaign.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said Friday that 143,680 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.

Dec. 12, the UAE began its national COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The UAE will continue to inoculate people until December 2021, as the government aims to vaccinate 70 percent of its population.

The country has so far approved the Sputnik V, AstraZeneca-Oxford, Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines for use.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the UAE confirmed 436,625 coronavirus cases and 1,428 deaths.
