Monday, the Director of the Amman Field Hospital, Khaldoun Allawin, revealed that the oxygen alarm system went off for a few seconds early in the day. However, in statements to Roya, he said that the warning had been registered according to the procedures followed in such instances.

He added that the oxygen stockpile was at 100 percent, stressing that civil defense personnel reported to the hospital within a minute after the oxygen warning.

Allawin confirmed that the oxygen-related alarm system is currently being checked to find out the cause of the alarm going off, which took seconds, although the tank capacity was at 100 percent.

He said that the hospital has tanks that can accommodate 20 tons of oxygen in addition to a mobile tank with a capacity of 12 tons, explaining that all of them were full at the moment of the warning.

Notably, he indicated that the occupancy rate in the hospital is about 50 percent.

In turn, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dudin, confirmed to Roya that the hospital has not witnessed any interruption of oxygen.

Dudin explained that all hospital employees are currently on high alert following the incident at Al-Hussein Salt New Hospital Saturday, indicating that the hospital is well prepared to deal with any malfunctions.

He stated that what occurred in the hospital was that a sound went off from only one of the machines, which alerted all employees who rushed there immediately.

After receiving a notification about the oxygen supplies, the Minister of Interior and designated Minister of Health, Mazen Al-Faraya, inspected the field hospital, to ensure the safety of patients.
