Sunday, the Ministry of Education denied rumors which emerged on social media stating that the new Minister of Education, Mohammed Abu Qdais said that schools will no longer be allowed to choose distance learning, even if it becomes a danger to the health of students.

The ministry added that it was surprised that such rumors have been circulated and confirmed that the statement is completely false and was not issued by Abu Qdais.

The ministry stressed that any news or statement issued by the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research which is shared by unauthorized sources can be legally pursued.

They urged individuals to verify the accuracy of any news they read.

Abu Qdais replaced the former Minister of Education Tayseer Al-Nuaimi Sunday, following announcements made by the Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh ordering changes to the cabinet of ministers. Shortly thereafter, a Royal Decree was issued approving the PM's decision.
