Palestine records five deaths and 722 new COVID-19 infections

Palestine recorded five deaths and 722 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Friday.

The new deaths involved two in the West Bank (one in Nablus, and one in Tulkarm), and three in Jerusalem city.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 94 percent, while the active case rate is 4.9 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included nine in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 36 in Salfit; 45 in Hebron; 21 in Tulkarm; 58 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; nine in Qalqilya; 13 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 33 in Bethlehem; 10 in Tubas; 36 in Nablus; 23 in Jenin; 179 in the Gaza Strip, and 250 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included 29 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 23 in Salfit; 30 in Hebron; 12 in Tulkarm; 141 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; four in Qalqilya; 11 in Bethlehem; 15 in Tubas; 57 in Nablus; 18 in Jenin, 268 in the Gaza Strip, and 205 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 61 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 17 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,252 PCR tests were conducted.
