Palestine confirms eight deaths and 747 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded eight deaths and 747 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Thursday.

The new deaths involved two in the West Bank, two in the Gaza Strip and four in Jerusalem.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.8 percent, while the active case rate is 5.1 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 23 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 16 in Salfit; 13 in Qalqilya; seven in Tubas; 30 in Jenin; 54 in Nablus; 24 in Bethlehem; 85 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 57 in Hebron; three in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 264 in Gaza Strip; and 150 in Jerusalem.

The recovery cases included zero in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 36 in Tulkarm; 14 in Salfit; 13 in Qalqilya; 14 in Tubas; 43 in Jenin; 84 in Nablus; 16 in Bethlehem; 34 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 29 in Hebron; three in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 400 in Gaza Strip; and 78 in Jerusalem.

Currently, 64 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 18 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,421 PCR tests were conducted.
