Palestine confirms 20 deaths and 699 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 20 deaths and 699 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Sunday.

The new deaths involved 12 in the West Bank and eight in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 89.1 percent, while the active case rate is 9.7 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 28 in Salfit; 39 in Tulkarem; 90 in Nablus; 34 in Tubas; 110 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 48 in Jenin; 48 in Hebron; 14 in Qalqilya; 26 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; eight in Jericho; 22 in Bethlehem; and 232 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 20 in Salfit; 62 in Tulkarem; 115 in Nablus; 19 in Tubas; 29 in Qalqilya; 87  in Ramallah; 65 in Jenin; 59 in Hebron; six in Jericho; 68 in Bethlehem; and 477 in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 98 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 22 are on ventilators.

A total of 3,393 PCR tests were conducted.
