Field hospital in Ma'an 90 percent complete: health official

The Health Affairs Director for Ma'an Amjad Abu Darwish Thursday announced that the field hospital in Ma'an is 90 percent complete.

The field hospital will only receive confirmed COVID-19 patients.

Abu Darwish said the hospital is equipped with 250 beds, 50 of which are intensive care beds. Additionally, a number of qualified medical personnel including nursing, technical and administrative staff, have been appointed to work at the hospital once it opens.

Abu Darwish confirmed that the COVID-19 investigation teams in Ma'an are doing their job by taking approximately 350 samples everyday and conducting PCR tests across the governorate.

There is a significant decrease in the number of positive cases due to citizens' compliance with preventive measures, he added.
