Palestine records 21 deaths and 1,743 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 21 deaths and new 1,743 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh Friday.

The new deaths involved 15 in the West Bank (five in Bethlehem, one in Salfit, two in the suburbs of Jerusalem three in Nablus, two in Ramallah and Bireh and two in Jenin) and six in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 77.9 percent, while the active case rate is 21.3 percent and the death rate is 0.8 percent.

The new coronavirus cases include 182 in Hebron; 203 in Jenin; 208 in Nablus; 115 in Tulkarem; 152 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 38 in Salfit; 35 in Qalqilya; 38 in Tubas; 104 in Bethlehem; 19 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 32 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; and 617 in Gaza Strip.

A total of 2,451 recovery cases were recorded including 226 in Hebron; 226 in Jenin; 203 in Nablus; 117 in Tulkarem; 57 in Qalqilya; 347 in Bethlehem; 27 in Salfit; 53 in Tubas; 434 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 31 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar and 730 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 81 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 23 are on ventilators.
