Palestine confirms 15 deaths and  1,422 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 15 deaths and 1,422 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh Saturday.

The new deaths involved 10 in the West Bank, and five in Gaza Strip. The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 76.4 percent, while the active case rate is 22.8 percent and the death rate is 0.8 percent.

The new coronavirus cases include 84 in Hebron; 96 in Jenin; 197 in Nablus; 79 in Tulkarem; 112 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 25 in Salfit; 31 in Qalqilya; 31 in Tubas; 154 in Bethlehem; 29 in the suburbs of Jerusalem and 584 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases include 156 in Hebron; 125 in Jenin; 24 in Nablus; 71 in Tulkarem; 122 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 63 in Salfit; 27 in Tubas and 442 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 69 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 20 are on ventilators.

Saturday, a total of 5,307 PCR tests have been conducted.
