Mohammad Al-Tarawneh, a doctor and specialist in chest and respiratory diseases, held the former Minister of Health, Saad Jaber responsible for leaving the medical sector in the dark, facing an unknown fate in light of the continuing coronavirus crisis in Jordan.

On his Facebook page, Al-Tarawneh wrote about a device which can replace a ventilator: "The ECMO device mimics artificial lungs which replaces [human] lungs in the event that ventilators are unable to solve the problem of a lack of oxygen which occurs as a result of lung damage, and delivers oxygen to the human body until the lungs recover."

He explained that the current amount of ECMO devices "in Jordan [are] two or three."

"Unfortunately, there is no trained medical staff who can operate these devices," he said.

He questioned Jaber by asking "why [he was] not prepared for this stage," knowing that the former Minister of Health knew full well about the ECMO device.

Al-Tarawneh said, "We are in great danger and “[have] not [taken action] for a period of six months prior to preparing for this stage.”

In another post, he spoke about what he called "wrong practices by some of those infected with the coronavirus and their impact on the high number of infections and deaths among medical personnel, the first line of defense."

He said that many of the infected people had hidden the fact that they were infected with COVID-19 from doctors, which caused an outbreak of the virus among health personnel.
