During the Prime Ministry meeting Tuesday, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh along with the Ministry of Health and the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), have reached an agreement to allocate at least 1,000 beds and 150 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients who will be transferred from elsewhere and at the government’s expense.

The agreement will soon be signed.

Al-Khasawneh stressed during the meeting; which was attended by a number of ministers and directors of private hospitals, that the partnership between the public and private sectors is a national responsibility for everyone to assume their responsibilities in facing this exceptional circumstance imposed by the coronavirus crisis.

The Prime Minister praised the understanding reached between the Ministry of Health and private hospitals to expand health care for coronavirus patients and to enhance the ability to treat patients disregarding any profit or losses.

This came into implementation following the visions and directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II that citizen’s health is a national priority, stressing the important role played by hospitals.
