The National Society for Consumer Protection (NSCP) in Jordan has called on the government to cancel the two-day total lockdown across the Kingdom or limit it to Friday after it has received hundreds of complaints from restaurant owners, employees at different sectors, and day laborers.

Member of the National Committee for Epidemics Firas Al-Bakri said Tuesday that the weekend lockdown could be cancelled.

A governmental source told Roya that it could instead be limited to Friday.

The 48-hour total lockdown decision which starts at 1 AM on Friday until 1 AM on Sunday, came based on recommendations from the Crisis Management Cell at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, due to the increase in the number of positive cases in Jordan.
