A one-week total lockdown has been imposed in Baqaa camp in Balqa, as well as New Zarqa and Al-Batrawi area in Zarqa, as of 6am on Thursday.

The decision was made based on recommendations from the Crisis Management Cell, on Tuesday.

This decision came after an increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in these areas.

The possibility of extending the lockdown will be discussed later on.

The governors of Balqa and Zarqa have been given the responsibility of issuing permits and dealing with humanitarian and emergency cases.
