The number of COVID-19 infections among school students reached 153 since the start of the academic year, while the number of teachers infected with the virus reached 94, in addition to 13 employees in the education directorates, announced the Ministry of Education, on Saturday. 

All COVID-19 patients have been in contact other positive cases outside the schools.

In addition, a total of 319 schools including public, private, military and UNRWA schools have switched to online education since the beginning of this academic year.

However, 241 out of 319 schools remain shut down and students are performing their studies through online education.
