A total of 24 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Karak since the first case was discovered since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis on Monday, said the Karak Health Directorate, Ayman Al-Tarawneh, on Tuesday.

The cases were recorded in the Ghor Al-Safi region of the Southern Valley, he added.

The first case in Karak involved a woman who is in her forties and attended a wedding and two funerals.

She was sent to a hospital Al-Karak government office, where she tested positive for COVID-19 and then transferred to Prince Hamzah Hospital in Amman.

Her house has been isolated and disinfected, and health investigtion tems have started taking samples from citizens of the entire district.
