There will be no suspension of school attendance due to coronavirus, said the Minister of Education, Tayseer Al-Nuaimi, On Friday.

The Ministry is exploring new ways to deal with positive cases in schools, including suspending attendance in the class that the case was recorded and not the school as a whole.

He said flexibility is needed at this stage and the protocol to suspend attendance in schools where COVID-19 is recorded is subject to amendment.

The ministry has developed a new electronic platform, Darsak Two, which will be launched soon and will continue to broadcast lessons on television.

An interactive element will be introduced on the new platform to improve communication between students and teachers, said Nuaimi.

Darsak Two monitors the volume of interaction, attendance, absence, and evaluates performance, he added.
