A press briefing headed by Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, and Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, took place at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, on Thursday.

The press briefing addressed the COVID-19 situation in Jordan and the country’s plan to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

If the local COVID-19 cases in Jordan continue to increase for three days in a row, strict measures will be implemented, Adaileh said.

The possible measures include; implementing a one-day lockdown on Friday at a city or district level if local cases continue to rise, extending curfew hours and temporarily closing schools, mosques, churches, parks and gathering places, Adaileh added.

A total of 16 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Jordan on Thursday, 14 from which are local, said Jaber.

Two recovery cases were recorded today.
