Nabil Foods suspends operations temporarily to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus

Nabil Foods announced it has temporarily suspended its operations in all its factories after some of its employees tested positive for coronavirus. The decision was taken to ensure the health and safety of employees as the company continues to place the interests of the country and the safety of customers at the forefront of everything it does.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the company has taken strict preventive measures as part of its emergency plan that was prepared previously, before the outbreak, in order to ensure the safety of its employees and to limit the spread of coronavirus in line with global standards and guidelines. The company had not previously had a positive COVID-19 test result for any of its employees. However, after the health authorities informed the company of a confirmed case involving one of its employees, the company, in collaboration with relevant authorities, has temporarily suspended its operations until it completes all medical tests and examinations for all employees and evaluates the results in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

The company took instant action which included:

  • supporting the affected employees,
  • isolating the concerned department in collaboration with the health entities and the employees were sent to quarantine,
  • closing the factory temporarily for disinfection purposes,
  • conducting medical examinations of relevant employees,
  • expanding the scope of COVID-19 testing to 100% of company employees.

Nabil Food affirms its complete commitment to the safety of its products by applying the highest international standards of safety and quality in all of its operations and products. Nabil Foods recognises the importance of sustaining continuous food supplies, however, the safety and health of its community are at the top of its priority list. For those reasons, the company will reopen once none of its establishments contain any traces of coronavirus.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the company has taken strict preventive measures to protect its employees and workers through continuous disinfection operations for factories and all company departments. The company has also provided all instructions about coronavirus and ways of prevention through continuous hand washing, wearing masks and gloves at all times, and social distancing between employees. Moreover, the company has provided all necessary medical and preventive supplies for workers, according to the Ministry of Health and health and safety procedures implemented at Nabil Foods.
