Jordan has confirmed two new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 1,170, the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, announced today.

During a press conference at the Prime Ministry building, Jaber said the cases are for people who returned from abroad.

A total of 12 people have recovered today, including 10 at Prince Hamzah Hospital and two at the quarantine sites in the Dead Sea area, the minister said.

The epidemiological inspection teams conducted 8,073 COVID-19 tests, the Minister said, pointing out that the second tests of the Al-Bashir Hospital doctor have returned back negative and he will undergo a third test to confirm the result of the previous tests.

Jaber noted that the Health Ministry has launched the "Sehtak" (Your Health) app, via joint efforts with relevant stakeholder and Jordanian entrepreneurs to help citizens in addressing the coronavirus.
