As domestic flights resumed in Jordan today, travelers are not required to undergo a COVID-19 test, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners at the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Haitham Mesto, confirmed.

Speaking to Roya, Mesto stressed that all facilities should be sterilized and people must commit to social distancing for the safety of the staff and crew of the plane.

During an inspection tour to see the readiness of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) to activate domestic flights, Mesto said that it has not yet been decided when the international flights will resume.

He explained that the CARC visited the QAIA to check on all the procedures according to the procedural guideline that was circulated and make sure that they are applied properly.

He stressed that "the focus in this period is more on prevention and public safety than reopening the Airport at full capacity."
