Jordan confirms 22 new coronavirus cases today, bringing total cases to 562

The Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, has announced that 22 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Jordan today, bringing the total number of cases reported since the beginning of the crisis to 562.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, the Minister said that among the new cases are eight truck drivers who were found infected at the Al-Omari borders between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, three of whom are Jordanians. In addition to two Jordanian students who are quarantined in the Dead Sea area and 12 people who had direct contact with the infected truck driver in the Al-Khanaseri area in Mafraq governorate, where three of them were recorded in the southern neighborhood of Irbid governorate.

The Minister added that one recovery case was reported today in the Kingdom, bringing the total number of recoveries to 390.

"Nearly 4,000 random tests have been conducted today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 119, 260," Jaber confirmed.
