For the eighth day in a row, no new coronavirus cases were recorded in Jordan, the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, has announced.

"However, six truck drivers were found infected with the virus at the Jordanian borders, including two Jordanians and four Arab nationals," the Minister said, explaining that the total number of cases reported in the Kingdom rises to 471.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, the Minister stated that five recovery cases were reported today in the Kingdom.

"4,050 random tests have been conducted today and all the results were negative, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 91,666 total," Jaber confirmed.

The Minister added that the returnees will be isolated at designated quarantine sites in the Dead Sea region and will be followed up on via advanced electronic systems and apps, developed by Jordanians, through which students can file complaints.

He also announced that a smart application will be launched soon to notify citizens when they come into contact with people who are infected with the virus.

The Minister of Health called on citizens to maintain the achievement of the government and the security services under the strict directions of His Majesty King Abdullah II in dealing with the epidemic and limiting its spread.
