Personnel of the Civil Defence Directorate's hazardous materials (hazmat) team have finished disinfecting 131 sites nationwide, 22 of which were during the last 48-hour’s comprehensive curfew, as part of a sterilization process to slow the spread of COVID-19.

"The sterilization process included buildings, hotels, homes and hospitals, using environmentally friendly sterile materials that eliminate harmful viruses and microbes, and do not cause any side effects or damage to human or collectibles," a statement by the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Sunday.

The PSD and the hazmat team work in cooperation with the chemical support team of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), in coordination with the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.
