Eight new coronavirus cases recorded in Jordan

Eight new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Jordan, all from abroad, on Saturday, bringing the total number to 1,154 since the start of the crisis.

Five cases involve people currently staying in hotel quarantine; two have travelled from Palestine, two from Syria and one from Saudi Arabia.

Three cases involve Jordanian truck drivers who have entered from Saudi Arabia via Al-Omari border crossing.

Six people recovered from COVID-19 patients; five were discharged from Prince Hamzah Hospital and one from Queen Alia Hospital.

A total of 7,759 random tests were conducted today, bringing the total number conducted so far to 558,451.


The Ministry of Health warned citizens from engaging in any activities that violate public safety and prevention measures, especially gatherings of more than 20 people. Penalties will be applied according to defense orders against violators.

The Ministry of Health reiterated the need to adhere to preventive measures, avoid gatherings for more than 20 people, wear facemasks, social distance, and use Aman and Sehtak mobile applications.
