The pharmacy employee who has recently tested positive for coronavirus was fully aware that his dead father was infected with the virus, spokesman for the National Committee for Epidemics Nathir Obaidat confirmed in statement today.

The father, who died on March 26, was admitted to hospital suffering from kidney failure and as a precautionary measure, he underwent a COVID-19 test, where the result was positive, Obaidat explained.

"Relatives of the deceased were allowed to bury him before the examination results were shown. However, once the results were found to be positive, all people who had contact with the deceased were tested and were asked to commit to home quarantine until the results are shown."

Obaidat confirmed that the epidemiological investigation teams were contacting the employee, who works at the warehouse of a famous pharmacy chain, every day to check on his health condition and whether he shows any symptoms or not in accordance with the applicable medical protocol.

The infected employee is currently in isolation, while the epidemiological investigation teams are looking for all those who had direct contact with him, including work colleagues and relatives to test them.
